Shoulder healing well.
Cold has stepped in.
I will make it through this!!!
Warm up with the BC team.
First round match against Jason Betker. A real work out. His cross court backhand is one to be reckoned with. 6-1 6-3. Cold feels a bit better. Thumbs are sore.
Jason and I 6-36-4
Jonathon and 1 1-6 4-6
Bernard and ! 1-6 1-6
Mark and I 6-3 6-3
Kyle and I again 1-6 0-6
Dropped my masters. May continue after I retire. Painful efforts were awarded with a letter from the Dean in my first year for having an average above 3.769 or something close to that.
Shoulder is working damn fine. Work at my new lace of employment is going well. I have to brush up on my pottery and welding (what a combination?… it works well!).
Preparing for the Canadian Wheelchair Nationals to be played in Calgary in late October. I have to consistently train on court three times a week to make this work. I have played less than 20 times since the nationals last year.
I played injured last year and did pretty good. I think I had to miss some matches because of it.
Really looking forward to the learning experience this event will provide.
I have an area of focus for my strategies for this event.

A good hit today. shoulder is still in. Did not do my band exercises or any exercises for that matter over the last three weeks. I was working on my masters. Full time in school with about 4 to 6 hours of sleep each night. It killed me. At this time I only feel sad. I know it will go away but at this time it feels like it won’t. Hitting took me out of the sadness today. The requirement to focus on the ball took me away. I always had tennis to take me away from the real world but this time I needed it.
Miss hits in the beginning. Shoulder felt good on the backhands. I felt like I was training. I felt like I was getting ready for competition. But it was just a quick hit. Shoulder felt like it is almost there. I think just a couple of weeks more and then it is back to the workout routine, core exercises, chair drills and a little more on court time.
Thanks for the hit Trevor!!
Played a ladder match with Ben again. This time he took it. 4-6 Good job Ben!
Ladder match with Denise. Denise informed me that our matches are pro sets to 10. 0-10 Hell of a job Denise.
A good hit with Erica. Thanks 3-2.
I had not played since last week. But at least having played last week my warm up much better. My able bodied opponent hit well but lacked it on the serve. A few hard hitting rallies in the match. Once he was warmed up his serve provided him with some ace points. My shots were pretty good. I enjoyed the match. Thanks Ben
