Reviving The Hunter / Retraining the monkey.

Last day of tennis camp.  I met nice people there.

Relearning a lot.  Used the feather today.  Unbelievable number of serves.  Confidence brought back to the redeveloped serve from the support of the instructor.  A few inches back, big difference.  The feather allows for good spin.  It is comfortable.  We worked on positioning for doubles.  Played at the baseline and “one bounced” the day away only taking balls on two when the dropped close to the net.  That is one of the goals.  To take everything on one or less.  My shots were played well with only two netted balls.  Did not get a lot of opportunity to volley when at the net.  One shot caught me by surprise and scared me.  Missed that volley.

I believe my new strings will break soon.  I will get two more rackets strung with them.  I like them.  I now feel I have control over the slower shots, volleys and serves to claim these strings as high maintenance but worth it.  these strings pull the ball as hard as you want.  Will try a hybrid setup to get more life out of them.

I was not lazy today and did a good job.  Drinking two cups of coffee at nine and staying up to twelve two nights ago did not work yesterday.  Getting to bed at ten, no sweets or coffee last night and giving myself a little extra time in the morning worked well today.

I will not play for three or four days (unless asked)  Stretching and weights each day with rest and good food.

Sooooo…  Unless I play real soon.  MERRY CHRISTMAS! 1.5 hrs  2584.5
