Tough day in court.  I wanted to treat today like a big match.  One that mattered very much against a challenging opponent in a sanctioned tournament.

I had just taken a week off for the holiday season.  I studied hard last night staying up later than I wanted to.  And this morning I woke up about three hours early.  I did not feel I needed sleep until I was packed and in the truck.

I had a coffee before we started.  I did not play as I wanted to but managed to keep those thoughts away from me.  Serve was off… sure I could place it, but I couldn’t pace and place.  The places were easy points for my opponent. My returns were weak on the shots that pulled me wide.  It was during the 5th game of the first set that my eyes became tired.

Today was the day to implement the stuff I studied last night. I was successful only on a few occasions to do it. It is a big change. I will try again on Sunday.
