Working on the game. Consistency in shot commitment is an issue. I must commit all of the time. What shots to use??? Reading my opponent. FOLLOW THROUGH! Making it all come together. Just a few short weeks until Texas. Yes Texas. The Texas Open appeared on http://www.itftennis.com/wheelchair/tournaments/calendar.aspx?date=05-2015 link. I immediately latched on to send in my application.
I have not made it into the gym yet. It is a big commitment. It is a process that takes about two hours at home. I have turned on the sauna to do my pre-workout stretches in. I do not do a lot of stretches it is more about heating up my muscles. The workout is comprised of 23 different exercises. Today, Sunday, I will do only eight reps per set. In a few days I will up to ten. The room temperature is 76 degrees to help keep my muscles warm. I to the exercises in groups of two working different parts of my body. Trying to do slower controlled movements without a break. Trying to keep weights low. But if there isn’t a challenge then I increase. Changing degrees on incline. Loading and unloading weight or shorting the length of the rubber band.
The points of focus are still the same. Consistency through commitment in my ability to swing a racket effectively. That is the one I think is most important right now.
Today’s hit went well. Thanks Shelley and Tom. I am learning.
Unfortunately I am not invisible anymore 😦 I was ranked 589 in the world today. These things change. I was being hard on myself for loosing in these last two tournaments but I realized that 50% for the entries loose first round and I look forward to my next challenge. I was a greater contender in Indian Wells than I was in Tucson. I will use the same game plan as Indian Wells in Texas.
I worn another hole in my hand today.
I have met many wonderful people so far. Thanks!
